Ecommerce and Cloud Company Amazon.com, Inc. Launches AmazonSmile
Ecommerce and cloud company Amazon.com, Inc. has now made it easier for its customers to donate to charity. The company has launched AmazonSmile, a scheme that allows online shoppers to make financial contributions to around a million charities around the world simply by doing their shopping online.

Online shoppers can now visit Amazon's new website, smile.amazon.com. The format of the site is the same as the company's traditional online shopping website, but new visitors are asked to choose a charitable organization they would like to donate to. Once this is established, Amazon's 'AmazonSmile Foundation' donates 0.5% of the price of purchases to the charity a new customer has chosen and will do so every time that customer makes a purchase through the site. Shoppers are able to change the charity they want to donate to whenever they wish to.

“We’re offering customers a way to support charitable organizations around the country that’s simple and automatic,” explained AmazonSmile's General Manager, Ian McAllister. “We think customers will love the opportunity to support their favorite organizations without changing how they shop, and there’s no cap on how muchAmazon will donate.”

Charities wishing to register with AmazonSmile so they are eligible for donations should visit org.amazon.com.
