Ecommerce platform provider BigCommerce has announced a new promotion which it suggests “provides retailers thousands in savings” when migrating to their BigCommerce Enterprise solution from platforms such as the Open Source (OS) Magento ecommerce software/platform.

BigCommerce, which has headquarters in Austin, Texas, United States alongside a presence in San Francisco and Sydney, was established in 2009. The company specializes in a “robust, flexible ecommerce platform” that offers users “everything they need to launch, promote, manage and scale a successful online store”.

Establishing an ecommerce platform is a considerable expensive for any company. Alongside development costs there are a range of costs related to dealing with technical issues and platform maintenance. Such costs are driving customer to cloud-based platforms like BigCommerce Enterprise.

The company’s latest promotion is open to “qualifying brands” and provides up to six months free service supported by BigCommerce’s “in-house team of catalog transfer and onboarding specialists”. “Eligible retailers” can also benefit from a free standard catalog transfer provided by BigCommerce and up to $2,000 onboarding credit for customized services.

“Retailers are finding that the burden of managing custom-built or legacy platforms like Magento is limiting their ability to keep pace with retail trends and consumer shopping preference,” explained BigCommerce’s Vice President of Enterprise Sales and Channel, Russell Griffin. “For online brands that feel constrained by their current platform or wary of embarking on a costly upgrade path, this offer provides a streamlined and budget-friendly path forward on BigCommerce Enterprise.”
