EDA and semiconductor IP provider Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (Cadence) has adopted next-generation cloud provider Platform9 Systems
(Platform9)’s ‘Open Cloud’ solution. Cadence, which has headquarters in San Jose, California, United States, was established in 1988. The company specializes in tools that automate the design and verification processes to “help engineers design the transistors, standard cells, and IP blocks that make up SoCs”. It has adopted Platform9 to “deploy, manage, and maintain a private cloud platform” that meets its internal engineering teams’ rigorous design requirements.
Platform9, which has headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, United States, specializes in delivering a cloud platform that allows enterprises to “deploy, monitor and maintain hybrid clouds across multiple platforms”. The company leverages cloud infrastructure (including OpenStack and Kubernetes) to establish SaaS-managed solutions. Alongside Cadence its customer base includes Autodesk, Splunk and EBSCO. Platform9 met Cadence’s automation requirements through a “true SaaS managed experience” which offered rapid time to value and a global single management panel.
“As we continue to challenge traditional thinking in the industry, we needed a solution for scaling our IT operations that would meet strict industry guidelines, enhance developer productivity and align with our long-term product delivery strategy,” explained Cadence’s Vice President of IT, Carl Siva. “After considering several products and services, we selected Platform9 because it delivers widely used cloud frameworks such as OpenStack and Kubernetes, spans multiple regions across the globe, lets us easily establish a cloud environment in compliance with semiconductor industry requirements, and ultimately, provide our engineering team with resources on-demand via an automated self-service platform.”Do you know of any other providers winning new customers?
