DartPoints, a provider of data centers that offer Edge colocation services, has agreed to acquire Immedion, a provider of cloud and colocation services. DartPoints, which has headquarters in Dallas, Texas, United States, was founded in 2012. The company has a strong focus on Edge computing but also specializes in areas like interconnection and 5G services. It bills itself as allowing “carriers, enterprises, and content providers” to harness “the power of interconnection”. DartPoints' acquisition of Immedion extends its reach to “seven additional Edge markets”. It is likely to be completed by the start of the third quarter of 2021.
Founded in 2007, Immedion has headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. The company bills itself as a “South Carolina first enterprise-class dedicated data center services provider”. The company also operates facilities across North and South Carolina and has a presence in Ohio and Indiana in the United States. Its managed services enable its customers to guarantee access to its customers’ business-critical data and applications, services it offers “at a very competitive price”. Aside from collocation and cloud offerings, Immedion’s services extend to disaster recovery, backup, and managed services. Financial aspects of the deal have yet to be released.
