Edge Data Center services provider
EdgeConneX, Inc. (EdgeConneX) and managed dedicated and cloud computing services provider Rackspace Inc. (Rackspace) have formed a partnership. With headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, United States, EdgeConneX is a “pioneer in Edge data centers”. The company’s global “hyperlocal to hyperscale” data center solutions provide the “fastest and most secure delivery of content, cloud services and applications”. The company also offers edge-of-network infrastructure solutions that are purpose-built for companies with bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive data.
EdgeConneX caters to companies in a number of areas including gaming, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the Internet of Things (IoT) and security. EdgeConneX’s partnership with Rackspace will “deliver a powerful combination of enterprise cloud solutions and the global EdgeConneX data center platform”.
Rackspace has headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Established in 1998, the company offers IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) and managed services that leverage the technologies of partners such as Alibaba, AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack, Oracle, SAP and VMware. The company was in the news earlier this year from Kevin M. Jones joining the company as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Together EdgeConneX and Rackspace will offer enterprises a hybrid cloud solution with “localized, multi-cloud capabilities”. Alongside Edge cloud solutions, the partnership will help companies migrate to the cloud using a range of options that include “bare-metal environments to variable hybrid cloud and multi-cloud solutions from best of breed providers”.
“Enterprises are running an increasing number of applications, across multiple locations, and those applications have become increasingly more complex and critical to their business's success,” explained Rackspace’s Vice President of Channel Sales and Channel Chief, Lisa McLin. “As part of the growing digital transformation trend, enterprise customers are asking for hybrid solutions delivered as a service and as close to their end-user customers as possible to ensure the best possible experience. As a premier edge data center provider with a longstanding philosophy of bringing the edge to its customers, partnering with EdgeConneX was a natural fit.”
“We are honored to partner with Rackspace combining our customer-centric philosophies to deliver integrated cloud solutions locally to businesses and tailored to each customer’s unique requirements,” added EdgeConneX’s Chief Marketing Officer, Phillip Marangella. “Our collaboration helps bring a faster, easier and more economical path to cloud migration for enterprises by bringing the cloud to the customer through local access to the most proximate, flexible, secure and scalable cloud solutions with the ability to support any deployment type from any cloud service provider yet optimized and managed by Rackspace.”
