SpamExperts B.V. (SpamExperts) is helping to protect the prestigious Universidad de Concepción in Chile from a range of email threats. SpamExperts was established in 2005 and has head offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The company caters to ISPs, telecommunication companies and shared web hosts (as well as other large companies and organizations) by offering inbound and outbound email filtering solutions. Each of SpamExperts’ solutions can either be used within its customers' virtual hardware or leverage its ‘Hosted Cloud’. Universidad de Concepción is recognized as one of the leading universities in Chile.
Established in 1919 and located in Concepción, Biobío, Chile, the Universidad de Concepción is a higher education institution that is “organized as a private corporation”. It offers a number of superior educational courses including post-graduate level tuition. To deal with spam-related issues, the university implemented SpamExperts’ incoming filtering solution on a Local Cloud. The implementation resulted in increased productivity levels as its over 20,000 students and 1,000 faculty members no longer had to deal with spam manually.
“Spam is a thing of the past for us now,” explained Universidad de Concepción’s Systems Engineer, Manuel Novoa. “Due to SpamExperts, we don’t have any junky emails and our users can rest assured that they don’t have to swim through countless spam messages to reach a valid one. In the past, we made use of a blend of various open-source technologies and an in-house developed solution, but nothing seemed to combat spam. That is, until we found SpamExperts,” he added.
