Enterprise Software and Network Management Company ManageEngine Suggests IT Teams Not Testing for Application Performance
Enterprise software and network management company ManageEngine has suggested IT teams are not testing for application performance. ManageEngine, which has headquarters in Pleasanton, California, United States, is a division of Zoho Corporation. The company offers a range of products and services including enterprise software, network management, server and application management, and desktop management solutions. The company also offers IT help desk and security management packages. The company’s survey – entitled “ManageEngine Application Performance Monitoring Survey 2015” – suggests 32% of IT teams are unaware of application performance issues until being made aware when end users complain or otherwise inform them.

The survey suggests that by the time companies are aware of application performance issues, it is generally too late to address them successfully. The survey also went on to suggest that 28% of IT team’s discover performance issues by “running ad hoc scripts” resulting in performance issues for customers. The survey also confirmed the 81% of those surveyed took up to four hours to address application outages, with 60% taking up to four hours to address application performance issues (including slow page loading times).

“Enterprise mobile apps have yet to reach the high performance and usability of consumer mobile apps,” explained ManageEngine’s Vice President of Product Management, Sridhar Iyengar. “Most enterprises are at a nascent stage in their adoption of mobility, still figuring out how to start their app development in terms of tools, vendors, architectures or platforms. The increasing variety of devices available for users today — from smartphones and tablets to wearables — makes it a challenge for enterprise IT to develop and maintain mobile apps to suit their users’ needs.”
