First of its Kind High-Density Data Center Comes To The NY Tri-State Area

September 15, 2010
September 15, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Frontline Data Services (FDS), is pleased to announce the grand opening on October 1st of the NY Tri-State area’s first-ever data center designed specifically for high-density colocation and managed services computing.

“This leading edge data center has been designed from the ground up specifically for high-density colocation,” said Howard Andrews, President of FDS, “It offers a new level of computing flexibility for small to medium sized businesses in the Tri-State area. In fact, its systems are specifically designed for virtualized and cloud computing, and can fully support up to 4 blade servers per cabinet, which other colocation providers cannot do efficiently, or at all.”

Andrews continued, “This means that we can provide our clients with a significant cost savings since they would need fewer cabinets to house their equipment. Moreover, since we utilize the latest in close-coupled InRow cooling, our data center is more energy efficient than traditional data centers, allowing us to offer more cost effective rates for high-density computing.”
Features of the newly launched Frontline Data Center include the following:

- Power and cooling systems fully support 1 to 4 blade servers (5 kW to 25 kW) per cabinet
- Cabinets with A-B redundant single or 3 phase PDUs (power strips) 120V, 208V or 240V
- The newest high efficiency scalable and modular UPS systems
- Completely integrated and redundant chilled water high density cooling systems
- Centralized security, environmental and power monitoring systems

According to Julius Neudorfer, the data center designer, “More and more small to medium businesses have been unable to provide the power and cooling necessary to support the new high density computing equipment associated with server consolidation and virtualization projects. They are faced with the high costs of upgrading their server rooms, and in many cases there is not enough power or cooling available in the building to meet the new requirements.”

Furthermore Neudorfer stated, “Many organizations have found that it is more cost effective to use a colocation or hosting provider than to continue to dedicate more and more capital and resources to operating their own data center.”
