March 15, 2005
March 15, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - IT spending is expected to reach $785 billion this year according to a Forrester Research study released on Monday with 45 percent of polled CIOs expecting to outspend their IT budget for 2005.

While the report detailed the service industry as the most optimistic for the coming year in terms of finances the web hosting industry should expect to a bountiful year with VoIP, BPL, and WiFi technology expanding the potential number of customers for high speed access tremendously although Google’s testing the waters with free blog hosting may be a prelude to a more general advance into the industry that would certainly send shockwaves through the industry.

A separate report from Forrester showed SMBs in the United States spent $320 billion on IT in 2004 with large enterprises having spent $413 billion.
