German Broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 Sells myLoc Web Hosting Brand
German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 GmbH (ProSiebenSat.1) has sold its myLoc managed IT AG (myLoc) web hosting brand. The European media company has headquarters in Unterföhring, Bayern, Germany, and founded in 2000. It is the country’s “leading entertainment player” and caters to 45 million viewers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It has a “strong e-commerce business” player with online price comparison sites and beauty and lifestyle sites. myLoc was sold to Italian cloud services provider WIIT S.p.A. (WIIT) in a deal that cost in the region of €50 million ($58.35 million).

WIIT has headquarters in Milan, Italy, and a presence in Rome. Established in 1996, the company specializes in a range of areas, including private cloud and Oracle private cloud options alongside hybrid cloud services. It also provides SAP hosting and disaster recovery services. It owns its own data centers and is “recognized as the natural choice for those who need to successfully drive their core business-critical applications”.

WIIT’s acquisition of myLoc is a result of a “diversification strategy” that is seeing ProSiebenSat.1 streamline its assets. myLoc was founded in 1999 and offers managed hosting, colocation, and cloud services. It has five data centers in Düsseldorf. A Virtual Minds subsidiary, the company generated €16 million in revenue last year.
