Global IT services provider phoenixNAP is using Houston, Texas-based R1Soft’s Server Backup Manager (SBM) as an R1Soft Server Backup Manager (SBM) “integral component” of its server backup solutions portfolio. The news was released in a recently published R1Soft case study which shows that SBM enables phoenixNAP to “deliver server backup to a variety of customers ranging from small organizations to large enterprise businesses”.

phoenixNAP, whose headquarters are in Arizona, United States offers solutions that extend to cloud, dedicated server, colocation and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings. The company operates in four locations with two more being added in 2016. A fifth location serves as the company’s network access point. Through utilizing R1Soft’s SBM phoenixNAP has been able to launch server backup services that have helped the company grow by allowing it to cater to “data intensive customers”. R1Soft’s SBM is utilized by around 1,800 hosts globally and 250,000 servers. It offers “industry-standard AES-256 encryption” and facilitates functions like “site-to-site replication, multi-tenancy and disk safe verification”.

“The application integration components of SBM are great – they allow us to scale the use of R1Soft from small and medium-sized business (SMB) to enterprise customers easily,” said William Bell, VP of Products at phoenixNAP. “The fact that I can back up Microsoft Exchange™ is very useful on the enterprise side, and the fact that I can back up a variety of flavors of Linux® is really helpful on the hosting side.”
