GlobalSign Partners with Armorize for Malware Scanning Services

October 13, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – GlobalSign, one of the leading providers of Digital Certificates worldwide, and Armorize, a leader in web application security, today announced a partnership to deliver malware scanning services to GlobalSign SSL Certificate customers. The partnership will allow all GlobalSign OrganizationSSL, ExtendedSSL and Managed SSL customers to benefit from 30 days of free malware scanning through Armorize’s HackAlert service.

Hackers use and develop malicious software known as malware to compromise PCs and spread viruses, hijack computers or steal personal information by surreptitiously injecting malicious code into vulnerable websites, causing the infected websites to distribute malware to their website visitors.

The danger for visitors to infected websites is that the malware installed on their Personal Computers often includes Keylogging software, Trojans, Rootkits and/or other software that can record users’ activities or even grant attackers access to and control over the victim computer.

GlobalSign will be offering its SSL customers a 30 day trial of the market-leading cloud-based malware monitoring service from Armorize known as HackAlert. HackAlert makes use of a hybrid approach which combines behavioural profiling and signature extraction to reliably monitor for and detect the presence of any Drive-by downloads that exploit known/unknown vulnerabilities, rendered links which have been blacklisted, or malware attacks executed via online advertisements (malvertisements). As the service provides detection and alarms for "Zero Day" malware injected into websites and hidden through malvertisements, HackAlert has set a new standard in comprehensive website security, drive-by download defence, and protection against being flagged by Google as a malware-infected site.
