Go Daddy College Scholarship Deadline Approaching

March 16, 2012
March 16, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy wants to help technology-driven students pay for tuition through their second annual .ME Scholarship Program. Go Daddy, the world's largest provider of Web hosting, domain name registrations and new SSL Certificates is giving 10 deserving students $10,000 each to help with college tuition costs. The deadline to apply is March 30.

Eligible students are encouraged to tell Go Daddy their story about how the Internet has influenced their intellectual, entrepreneurial, artistic or athletic pursuits. Students can submit their applications online at www.GoDaddy.com/MEscholarship.

The rising cost of tuition in a tough economy is making it difficult to earn a college degree. The reason for starting this scholarship program benefits both students and Go Daddy.

"Go Daddy is stepping up to support the future of the technology industry," said Go Daddy CEO Warren Adelman. "By investing in these tech-driven students, we are investing in the future of Go Daddy. These scholarship recipients may well be our future employees ... the next generation of Go Daddy technologists."

Go Daddy initiated the scholarship program last year, helping to send 10 students to colleges and universities all over the country.

"The Go Daddy dotME scholarship helped take some of the burden off my family," said Arizona State University student Annica Benning, who enjoyed the benefits of winning one of the $10,000 scholarships last year. "It really made a difference and I'd encourage other students to apply for the Go Daddy dotME scholarship. It's a simple process - you should just go for it."

To apply for the Go Daddy .ME Scholarship, applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in fall 2012, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have scored higher than 1000 on the SAT or 21+ on the ACT. Applicants need to submit two letters of recommendation and write a 500-word essay describing how the Internet or Internet technology has helped them in the course of their studies, and how they envision benefiting from it in the future.

More than 1,000 scholarship applications have already been submitted online. The application deadline is March 30. Go Daddy's scholarship recipients are scheduled to be announced at the end of April.
