Go Daddy Hopes Fortune Cookie Predicts Danica Patrick's Future

May 23, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – What do a Chinese restaurant in Kansas and Go Daddy have in common? Both apparently have a favorite to win the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500 race Sunday. It's none other than Go Daddy Girl & IndyCar's Most Popular Driver, Danica Patrick.

In April, Patrick -- who will be starting 10th in Sunday's race -- grabbed a fortune cookie at a Kansas Speedway restaurant. The fortune inside simply read, "A four-wheeled adventure will soon bring you happiness."

"It always helps to have some luck, but Danica also has the drive and the focus...I've always loved that about her," said Go Daddy CEO & Founder Bob Parsons. "We are all wishing her the best for Sunday, but at the end of the day, for us, Danica Patrick is a winner either way -- no matter the race results."

For a third consecutive year, GoDaddy.com is the Presenting Sponsor for the race broadcast on ABC, which airs Sunday at Noon ET. The Indy 500 is considered the 'Super Bowl of racing' and Go Daddy is set to debut a new GoDaddy-esque commercial featuring Danica during the broadcast.

In the commercial, Danica is pulled over for speeding on a deserted highway. The "Speeding" storyline takes a big twist and then invites viewers to see the cliffhanger conclusion online at GoDaddy.com. Network censors approved the ad weeks ago, but, because of the Internet-Only element, are requiring a Content Warning at the end of the broadcast ad.

"This is, by far, the hottest commercial we've ever made," Parsons said proudly.

Danica's no stranger to controversy, having starred in several Go Daddy Super Bowl commercials, including 2008's intended "Exposure," which the FOX network banned. It became an Internet-Only ad.

In February, Danica -- the Web's Most Searched Athlete, according to AOL - was featured in the commercial TiVo ranked as the Most Watched ad of this year's Super Bowl. The Go Daddy spot, titled "Enhancement," set off a firestorm, including boycotts by conservative groups.

"A lot of people tease me about the Go Daddy ads because they push the envelope," says Danica. "But GoDaddy-esque ads are fun to make, fun to watch... you just never know what's going to happen!"
