GoDaddy Launches Node.js Hosting With API Support for AI Coding Tools
GoDaddy has launched Node.js Hosting, a new hosting service designed to make it easier for customers, developers and AI coding tools to deploy web applications.

The new service allows applications to be uploaded as ZIP files or connected directly to a GitHub repository. Users can create a private preview environment before connecting a domain and publishing their application. Once published, GoDaddy automatically configures HTTPS, a content delivery network (CDN) and a web application firewall (WAF).

GoDaddy has also introduced API-based management for Node.js Hosting, allowing developers and AI coding agents to create, deploy and manage applications without accessing the company's hosting dashboard.

Through the GoDaddy API, users can create applications, upload source code, publish applications, manage environment secrets and access build and application logs. Authentication is handled through Personal Access Tokens (PATs), allowing automated tools to interact with hosting environments without requiring manual sign-in.

Designed for AI-Assisted Development

The new hosting service is aimed at simplifying the process of moving applications created with AI coding tools from development to production.

"Getting an app working shouldn't mean you now have to learn how to host it," said Bhala Dalvi, CTO, Products and AI at GoDaddy. "With GoDaddy Node.js Hosting, we're bringing deployment into that same workflow through our API. GoDaddy handles the build and hosting infrastructure, so people can spend their time improving their app."

Applications run as persistent Node.js processes, supporting use cases such as applications that retain information in memory, background jobs and open connections.

GoDaddy also handles framework detection, dependency installation and deployment when customers upload application files or connect a GitHub repository.

Hosting and Security Features

Published applications include several managed services, including:

Automatic HTTPS for encrypted connections
CDN support for content delivery
Web application firewall protection
Managed MySQL database
Persistent Node.js processes
Preview and production environments for testing changes before publication
API-based deployment and management

Node.js Hosting is included with GoDaddy Web Hosting plans, with the company stating that customers are not charged separately based on requests, data transferred or build minutes.

Free Preview Environment Available

GoDaddy is making Node.js Hosting available for testing without requiring a Web Hosting plan or credit card. Users can create up to two private preview applications for free.

A GoDaddy Web Hosting plan is required to publish an application publicly.

The company has made Node.js Hosting available through its website, while API documentation is available through the GoDaddy Developer portal.
