Google Announces WordPress Plugin
Google has announced the launch of a WordPress ‘Plugin’. Google, which has headquarters in Mountain View, California, United States, offers a range of tools for people with websites. Amongst others, these include Google Analytics, a tool designed to determine how many visitors reach a site and from where, and AdSense, a solution that allows website owners to monetize their websites. Google’s WordPress plugin leverages a range of Google tools to bring key data to WordPress users’ dashboard.

An Content Management System (CMS), WordPress that is used by companies and individuals to create websites. Being Open Source it is available free of charge and therefore extraordinarily popular, with around 1.1 million new WordPress-based websites launched every 6 months. As a result, WordPress underpins around 26% of all websites on the Internet. Known as ’Site Kit by Google’, Google’s new WordPress plugin brings Analytics and AdSense data to WordPress users alongside Search Console and PageSpeed Insights, making google’s tools easier to access for WordPress users.

“With Site Kit installed, WordPress users can access unified insights and Google product capabilities directly from the WordPress admin panel. Where it is helpful, Site Kit will also provide deep links into Google products for advanced reports and product configuration capabilities,” explained Mariya Moeva, a Google Product Manager on the company’s blog. People can sign up for the solution now, but it will be available to beta testers early 2019.
