Hosted IT and Data Center Services Provider Pulsant Meets Data Center Upgrade Schedule
Hosted IT and data center services provider Pulsant has met its schedule for upgrading its Tier III data center in Croydon, United Kingdom. The company, one of the United Kingdom’s leading managed hosting, cloud computing, colocation and managed networks providers, owns ten ISO 27001, ILS2, ILS3 and PCI certified data centers in the UK which cater to a 3,000-strong customer base. It also owns data centers in Amsterdam, Hong Kong and New York.

The company’s Croydon data center is undergoing an upgrade that is costing the company £18 million ($30 million). The final milestone in the first phase of the upgrade designed to enhance the site's “levels of redundancy and uptime” has been completed. Pulsant has increased the electrical power supply to the center and “enhanced redundancy” with the inclusion of standby generators that ensure there is “no single point of failure” as far as the Croydon data center’s power source is concerned.

"The HV network gives Pulsant added flexibility when it comes to bringing more power into the site," explained Pulsant’s CTO, Matt Lovell. "It enables us to approach future growth in a modular fashion. And the key advantage is that when this is taking place, there will be a minimum of disruption to our existing customers. We have also added more dark fibre options in terms of capacity and connections to the site. These new links have been provided by Zayo Networks and, as with our other dark fibre options, they offer low latency connectivity straight into the heart of London with diverse roots."
