Nexcess has announced the launch of ExpressionEngine 3.1 Content Management System (CMS) hosting packages. Nexcess, whose headquarters are in Southfield, Michigan, United States, was established in 2000. The company specializes in managed ExpressionEngine and eCommerce hosting, providing services through data centers in Australia, Europe and the United States. The company is the ‘Official Enterprise Hosting Partner’ of EllisLab – ExpressionEngine’s creator – and has optimized its servers for version 3.1 of the solution.
ExpressionEngine offers a full range of tools and the support of a substantial community that creates third-party add-ons for the solution which enhance its functionality. The CMS has a strict focus on security and, according to the EllisLab website, it has “never had a major security vulnerability” in the eleven years it has been available. Version 3.1 “brings a host of new features and enhancements”, particularly support for PHP 7.
"With ExpressionEngine 3.1, EllisLab have hit a homerun,” explained Nexcess’ President and CEO Chris Wells. “PHP 7 support is a huge deal for users of our hosting platform, most of whom are rightly sensitive to the impact CMS performance can have on their business. With the introduction of PHP 7 support, EllisLab is bringing a substantial performance boost to our clients -- that makes us happy. For developers and users with complex content management requirements, ExpressionEngine is a flexible, fast, and powerful solution."
