Hosting Provider GigeNET Cloud Announces New Cloud Server Option
Hosting provider GigeNET Cloud has announced the launch of a new cloud server option. GigeNET, which has headquarters in Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States, was established in 1997. Alongside cloud options it offers a number of hosting options including dedicated and managed hosting alongside colocation, hybrid hosting and cloud hosting and infrastructure. The company has a global clientele and has a presence in Los Angeles, California and Washington, D.C. in the United States. Its latest cloud server offering is known as ‘GigeNET Cloud Lite’.

The highly available GigeNET Cloud Lite is offered in three formats – ‘Balanced’, ‘Core’, and ‘Max’. Each format offers “self-healing” SAN, live migrations, seamless failover, and fast route optimization. Cloud Lite Balanced provides “a standard mix of both memory and compute power allocation” while Cloud Lite Core offers additional compute power for detailing with “applications that are CPU intensive”. Cloud Lite Max offers high levels of memory (scaling up to 64GB) and is designed for development environments and workloads that include “performance-intensive databases”.

"Our classic cloud product allowed for extreme levels of granular control over system resources with the ability to scale memory by the megabyte,” GigeNET Cloud’s Founder and President, Ameen Pishdadi. “However, this form of control is no longer a common use case. Instead, customers have grown accustomed to consuming public clouds in a package form, and our Lite Cloud product reflects this reality," he added.
