HP and Telecom Italia Partner on Italian OpenStack Virtual Private Cloud Services
HP and Telecom Italia have partnered on the provision of cloud services in Italy. The organizations will cooperate on the providing OpenStack options and the move is designed to help facilitate businesses migrate to OpenStack virtual private cloud solutions. The deal sees HP provide assessments of customers' business processes and IT applications. The company will also assess their customer workloads and provide technical support during migration.

HP, formerly known as Hewlett-Packard Company, is a globally recognized multinational offering IT services. The company has headquarters in Palo Alto, California, United States. Its services include hardware products such as printers, laptops, desktops, and storage solutions alongside enterprise services including servers and cloud solutions. Telecom Italia offers a range of services alongside standard telecommunications offerings such as landline and mobile services. These include DSL data services and managed datacenter offerings. In addition, the company offers business process management and consulting services.

“Traditional IT infrastructures don’t have the capabilities and bandwidth to handle growing levels of information and demand, so organizations need to move to the new style of IT where cloud delivers round-the-clock connectivity,” explained HP's Senior Vice President and General Manager for cloud activity, Marten Mickos. “The combined expertise of HP and Telecom Italia will provide organizations with integrated, proven capabilities that can deliver successful cloud transformations."
