ICANN Approves EURid's Application for New .EU Domain

March 23, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - ICANN has approved EURid's .eu domain application with PriceWaterhouseCoopers having been selected as validation agent for the new domain.

EURid published a new timetable for the launch of the .eu domain sometime in late 2005. EURid will soon begin accrediting .eu registrars and publishing a list on their web site.

Xavier Buck, EuroDNS's Managing Director commented 'This is step we have all been waiting for. Our back office systems are already operational, and we can now begin the mammoth task of assembling and reviewing our applicant's data in preparation for the verification process later this summer.'

EuroDNS is well prepared for this work. The company will launch its supporting services shortly to assist applicants obtain the necessary
qualifications - a European-based company, or an EU or European national trademark are required to qualify for the initial 'Sunrise' period.
