Web.com Group, Inc. (Web.com) has announced the appointment of three new executives. Web.com has global headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, United States and offices outside the US. The company specializes in areas like website design, digital marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services, domain registration and SSL certificates. It also offers WordPress hosting and the ‘NameJet’ domain name aftermarket platform which it acquired from Tucows, Inc. (Tucows) in 2018. Web.com caters primarily to small business customers and its onboarding of new people is aimed to enhance its ability to differentiate its brand and expand domestic and global markets for its products and services. Web.com’s three new executives are Chris Ortbals (Chief Product Officer), Ted Schremp (Chief Marketing Officer), and Gerry Drew (General Manager in the United Kingdom).
Prior to joining Web.com Chris Ortbals was Executive Vice President of Product and Marketing at QTS Data Centers. He has a broad range of experience in the areas of hosting, cloud and managed services. He also held executive positions at Cbeyond, Inc., and CenturyLink Technology Solutions. Ted Schremp has a telecommunications and technology background and held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at TiVo before joining Web.com. His other previous roles have included executive posts at SmartHome Ventures, First Media Group of Indonesia, and Charter Communications. Gerry Drew’s background is in media, IT and digital/mobile management and he was the founder and Chief Operating Officer at digital marketing company Linguistic before taking on his new position. Other companies he worked for include World Online, O2 Online, Opera Telecom and Tanla Mobile.
The three new team members will report to Sharon Rowlands, the CEO and President of Web.com. "Chris, Ted and Gerry’s accomplishments across transformational business environments will be invaluable as we accelerate the development and deployment of new products, differentiate our brands, and market our services to new and existing customers domestically and abroad," explained Ms. Rowlands.
