IT services provider CenturyLink, Inc. (
CenturyLink) has announced support for Google Cloud Partner Interconnect. CenturyLink, which has head offices in Monroe, Louisiana, United States, is the “second largest U.S. communications provider to global enterprise customers”. Alongside communications options the company’s services include hosting, cloud and IT services, ‘Big Data’ analytics and IT consulting. Each service is made available through CenturyLink’s global fiber networks. By supporting Google Cloud Partner Interconnect its customers will be able to “connect to Google Cloud Platform from anywhere”.
CenturyLink's services address business’ hybrid cloud and multi-cloud needs. CenturyLink Cloud Connect Solutions offers companies a flexible and agile network that links cloud environments over private and secure connections. It offers “real-time enhanced visibility and dynamic network controls offer users an enhanced network experience”. Launched in September 2017 Google Cloud Partner Interconnect is a relatively new Google service. The service supports multiple ways to connect Google Cloud Platform to a user’s infrastructure and will enable allow CenturyLink Cloud Connect Solutions customers to “provide connectivity from their facilities to the nearest Google edge point of presence”.
"Partner Interconnect gives Google Cloud customers even more connectivity choices for hybrid environments," explained Google Cloud’s Product Manager, John Veizades. "Together with CenturyLink, we are making it easier for customers to extend their on-prem infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform."
