Laura Lilyquist Joins Infrastructure Provider DriveScale
Laura Lilyquist has joined infrastructure provider DriveScale, Inc. (DriveScale). DriveScale, which has headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, United States, was established in 2013. The company bills itself as “the leader in Software Composable Infrastructure (SCI) for modern workloads”. It specializes in ‘Big Data’ infrastructure and its products and services provide distributed computing architecture for companies with “dynamic and demanding workloads” such as social, mobile, analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It caters for intensive workloads like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, NoSQL, Cassandra, Docker, and Kubernetes. Ms. Lilyquist joins DriveScale as Vice President of Marketing.

Ms. Lilyquist is a 20-year industry veteran with expertise in product, technology and customer acquisition marketing. She also has experience of marketing at both startups and large enterprises. Her previous roles have included positions at Sun Microsystems, where she was in charge of networking products and helped set up the company’s European arm. After Sun Microsystems, she joined Microsoft as Global Director of Customer Marketing and was in charge of growing market awareness for the company’s telecom IPTV solution. Other roles have included Director of Strategic Planning at Symantec, where she helped the company enter the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market. After this she joined LiveHive as Vice President of Marketing. The company was a startup and she was in charge of developing a marketing team to launch the company. Prior to joining DriveScale she was Senior Marketing Director at VMware and oversaw marketing for its software-defined data center and hybrid cloud solutions.
