Leading Web Host and Domain Name Provider Go Daddy Adds Scott Wagner to Executive Team
Leading web host and domain name provider Go Daddy has added Scott Wagner to its executive team in the position of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Go Daddy, which has offices throughout the United States, and in The Netherlands, India and Singapore, made revenue worth $1.3 billion last year, and has recently been involved setting up new locations in Sunnyvale, California and Seattle, Washington. Mr. Wagner joining the company is seen by many as fitting the company's expansion plans.

Mr. Wagner brings a wealth of experience to his position. Prior to moving to Go Daddy he worked with KKR companies for 13 years as an advisor and executive focusing on payments, media and technology for the company's portfolio operations. After KKR, Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures made investments in Go Daddy in 2011, he became the company's interim CEO. During this period he was responsible for launching a range of new products, including its reseller hosting and mobile website options. He was also responsible for opening the company's Hyderabad, India office.

Mr. Wagner joining Go Daddy is the latest in a series of high profile hirings. Blake Irving took over as Go Daddy CEO in January of this year. Amongst many others, Elissa Murphy joined the company's CTO and EVP Platforms from Yahoo! after previously working at Microsoft. Arnold Blinn, a 17-year Microsoft veteran, also became Go Daddy's Chief Architect, while former Yahoo! executive and Microsoft GM James Carroll became SVP, and Phil Bienert became EVP eCommerce.

"It's not often you see an operator of Scott's caliber and experience elect to join the portfolio company he was 'dropped in' to assist," explained Blake Irving. "Scott really kick-started our transformation back in July. He's helped to develop our strategy and mature our operations -- and he shares our passion to change the world for small business. Scott's decision to join us speaks to both the power of our opportunity at Go Daddy and our people. There's no better sign of confidence than to join full-time. This absolutely accelerates the phenomenal momentum we've created together."

"It's pretty simple," explained Mr. Wagner. "I believe in this company and what it can be - this is truly a rare opportunity to build a top-tier Internet company. Blake is an A-plus technology executive, a focused leader and a great guy to boot. The overall Go Daddy team is terrific, and we're building momentum month-to-month. I'm in it for the long haul and energized to be a part of it!"
