Limelight customers can now access diverse, high-quality content to improve user experience by keeping traffic local and as close as possible to users.NetIX
, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions, today announced a collaboration with Limelight Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: LLNW), a leading provider of content delivery and AppOps at the edge, to expand its content and media business to improve user experience for thousands of viewers across the Balkans and the CIS region.
By expanding into NetIX’s wholly-owned data centre, SDC (Sofia Data Center) in Sofia, Bulgaria, Limelight can now deliver content to current users in these regions more quickly by caching content from its ecosystem locally. This allows Limelight to connect to new customers in the region, expand its global reach, and deliver content more broadly.
"We’re thrilled to be Limelight’s interconnection colleague for eastern Europe, the Balkans and the CIS region,” said Dean Belev, VP of Services at NetIX. He continued, “We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, low latency paths to all the operators from the region connected into NetIX, and now that Limelight is a connected member, its subscribers based in central and eastern Europe will enjoy faster and more reliable access to Limelight’s content than ever before.”
“As part of our client success and performance improvement strategies, we’ve increased our capacity in key markets that are important to our customers,” said Dougal McMillan, Director of Strategic Initiatives Partnerships at Limelight. “Working with NetIX, we’re able to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure user experience to customers across the Balkans and the CIS region.”
