LumaDock, a European cloud hosting provider, has announced the launch of a new availability zone in Madrid, Spain, further expanding its infrastructure footprint across the region. The new location is designed to enhance connectivity and reduce latency for users throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
The Madrid availability zone is hosted at IaaS Datacenter Madrid, a Tier III carrier-neutral facility located in the San Blas-Canillejas technology district. The site offers access to multiple telecommunications providers and diverse fiber routes, enabling greater routing flexibility and improved network resilience.
As Madrid continues to grow as a key connectivity hub in Southern Europe, the new deployment positions LumaDock to better serve increasing regional demand. The city benefits from major interconnection platforms such as DE-CIX Madrid and ESpanix, which facilitate local traffic exchange and contribute to lower latency and more efficient network performance across Spain and neighboring markets.
Industry data highlights Madrid’s rapid rise as a data center destination. According to SpainDC, the city reached approximately 194.5 megawatts of installed capacity in 2024, reflecting year-over-year growth of more than 30 percent. Ongoing investment and rising demand for digital services have made Madrid an attractive location for cloud, hosting, and network providers.
With this launch, LumaDock strengthens its presence in Southern Europe and provides customers with an additional deployment option closer to users in Spain and Portugal. The new availability zone also leverages Madrid’s robust interconnection ecosystem to deliver reliable performance and broader European connectivity.
LumaDock continues to expand its network of availability zones across Europe and North America, with the Madrid region marking its latest step in supporting emerging digital markets and improving service proximity.
Infrastructure in the Madrid availability zone is now live and accessible via the LumaDock platform.
