June 9, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Macquarie Telecom (http://www.macquarietelecom.com) has announced that it has appointed Leonard Chan as Future Technologies Manager for the Hosting business.
Based in the Sydney office, Chan will be responsible for leading the development of new technology strategies for Macquarie Hosting. He will also consult with customers to help increase their understanding of new and evolving technology and its impact on their business.
Chan’s appointment builds on the continued success of the Data and Hosting business which grew revenue by 20.9% to $47.6 million in the last half year to December 2008. The creation of this role supports the overall business objective of maintaining the number one market position in complex managed hosting.
Chan brings more than14 years experience from the telecommunications services industry to Macquarie Hosting. Most recently he was Solution Marketing Manager for Telstra Business where he gained valuable industry insight bringing hosting solutions to market. Prior to that he held various strategic roles with SingTel Optus, including roles in product, technology and sales where he worked with customers on the optimum technology solutions to power their business.
In this role Chan will report directly to Aidan Tudehope, Managing Director, Hosting, a reflection of the importance Macquarie Hosting places on technology strategy development and the highest levels of customer service delivery.
