Malaysian Web Host Exabytes Buys MYNIC Authorized Reseller HT Internet
Malaysian web host Exabytes has bought MYNIC authorized reseller HT Internet Sdn Bhd (HT Internet). Exabytes, which has headquarters in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, was established in 2001. The company manages around 200,000 websites and offers a wide range of services including public cloud hosting and private cloud hosting alongside more traditional web hosting services such as dedicated servers and Virtual Private Server (VPS). The company has acquired HT Internet as a means of offering “more comprehensive online solutions to its customers”. The cost of the acquisition has not been announced.

Established in 2011, HT Internet also has headquarters in Pulau Pinang. The company manages over 5,000 domain names and offers website development services alongside hosting and domain name registration offerings. It has a number of brands including GROW and Domainplus.com.my. The HT Internet team will be fully absorbed by Exabytes Capital Group in an acquisition that is intended to enable Exabytes to offer its customers ‘Fully Managed Website’ services including web design.

“Without a website, clients cannot advertise and market their products online,” explained Chan Kee Siak the CEO and founder of Exabytes. “We ventured into Digital Marketing services by offering Google Adwords Digital Advertising service 2 years ago,” he added. “But there was still something missing in between – which is the ability to manage the website for the client. And this is where HT Internet acquisition fits in”.
