Rackspace and technology infrastructure corporation Switch have formed a partnership. Rackspace has headquarters in Windcrest, Texas, United States and “delivers expert advice and integrated managed services” that cover applications, data, security and infrastructure, including public and private clouds. Established in 1998, the company’s suite of cloud solutions leverages AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack and VMware. Switch, which has headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, is recognized for its data centers and technology solution ecosystems. The company has “500 issued and pending patent claims covering data center designs”. Together the companies will offer digital transformation services to customers in Switch's ‘Tier 5 Platinum’ data centers.
The partnership will allow Switch’s colocation customers to more easily leverage Rackspace managed services for private and public clouds, security, data and applications. Switch’s customers will benefit from Rackspace's ‘Pay-As-You-Go Private Cloud’ services that enable customers to benefit from private clouds with usage and billing terms similar to those of public clouds. Aside from on-demand private cloud solutions and global cloud connections, customers will benefit from “unparalleled physical and cyber security” that combines Rackspace Managed Security (RMS) solutions and Switch's Tier 5 Platinum data center security features.
"We see customers running more and more applications, and increasingly complex ones, on multiple IT platforms," explained Joe Eazor, Rackspace’s CEO. "As part of a customer's digital transformation, they are asking us for hybrid solutions delivered as a service in their corporate data centers or in colocation facilities like the highly secure Tier 5 Platinum data centers that Switch operates. We're excited that our collaboration will enable Rackspace and Switch to serve that customer need."
