Managed Cloud Company Rackspace Opens German Data Center
The ‘Managed Cloud Company’ Rackspace has opened its first German data center. With headquarters in Windcrest, Texas, United States, Rackspace offers a range of services that leverage AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack and VMware offerings. Its cloud solutions help companies enjoy the benefits of the cloud “without the complexity and cost of managing it all on their own”. Rackspace’s new data center is designed to drive customer support in the European Union (EU) and help customers address data protection regulations in the EU and Switzerland.

Located in Frankfurt, Germany, Rackspace’s latest data center is its 12th globally. The center will address customer requirements for managed private clouds and managed VMware hosting. It will also provide customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland new managed IT infrastructure options. News of the new data center comes on the heels of Rackspace’s recent launch of a “Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure Stack” service (which makes managed Azure Stack available to businesses) and the launch of managed AWS professional services (that will provide “end-to-end support for both new and existing AWS customers”).

“We’re proud to support our rapidly growing German customer base with our new data Center,” explained Rackspace’s Vice President of the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) Region, Alex Furst. “This facility allows us to ensure the highest availability, security, performance and optimal management for our customers, all while meeting their privacy requirements through our multi-cloud deployment capabilities.”
