Managed cloud company
Rackspace is to host this year's Redis Conference. The move underscores the San Antonio-based company's intention to support collaboration amongst the global Redis community.
Rackspace is the OpenStack cloud operating system founder and recognized as a leader in the managed cloud arena. The company provides services that allow companies to utilize the cloud without losing focus on their core competencies. It also caters to a 300,000-strong customer base with a range of hybrid cloud services providing "single- or multi-tenant servers, or a combination of those platforms". Rackspace will host a Redis Conference that takes place in San Francisco for the first time this year. It starts March 5, 2015 at the Innovation Hangar in the Palace of Fine Arts Exhibition Hall.
This year's conference keynote speakers will include Redis inventor Salvatore Sanfilippo who will talk on Redis' evolution over recent years and its direction. A call for speakers for the event has been made with a submission deadline of February 6, 2015.
“With more businesses adopting open source databases, we’ve seen significant growth across the Redis community this past year,” explained Rackspace's Chief Technologist for Data, Kenny Gorman. “This community will help set the pace of innovation in the cloud moving forward. The Redis Conference offers these developers the chance to share their knowledge and expertise, while learning from other Redis project leaders.”
