Managed cloud infrastructure provider Hostway Services, Inc.
(Hostway) has been chosen to provide a Virtual Private Cloud solution to the Henry Ford Museum in the United States. Hostway, which has headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, United States, was established in 1998. The company is recognized as “one of the world’s largest hosting providers” and offers a range of services that extend to cloud, managed and hybrid hosting alongside Infrastructure-as-a-Service (Iaas) and email hosting options. The service it offers the Henry Ford Museum enables the museum to offer its website visitors an “immersive multi-media experience”.
The Henry Ford Museum is located in Dearborn, Michigan, United States. The museum attracts 1.7 million visitors a year, but its website receives closer to 5 million visitors per year. The attraction houses “artifacts from 300 years of American history” and it has an indoor and outdoor history museum complex. Much of what is on display is available for viewing via the museum’s website. Hostway has leveraged Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform to cater to the museum’s website requirements, hosting its “entire IT infrastructure and massive collection of digital assets” on a platform it worked with Perficient Digital to architect and implement.
“Our Virtual Private Cloud platform is uniquely suited for exactly this type of workload, since it can be seamlessly scaled as both the audience and library content continue to grow, plus our team of Azure certified engineers are there at all times to ensure that the online visitor experience is just as stable and impactful as the in-person experience,” explained Hostway’s Chief Technology Officer John Enright.
