November 3, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Managed dedicated hosting provider SingleHop, Inc. (http://www.singlehop.com/) is offering Atom servers, it was announced today. The Chicago-based company will deploy the dual core Intel server at ultra competitive rates.
We are one of the first companies in the world to offer this great server and have them available immediately. We have always been committed to deploying the most power efficient servers and will continue to invest in this type of innovative new technology, explained SingleHops President, Zak Boca. The Atom has faster memory which eliminates bottlenecks created when multiple processor cores compete for access to the main memory. Its faster and far more power efficient than the dedicated server industry standard Pentium 4.
The Intel processor is based on an entirely new design, built for low power, explained Sean Maloney, Executive Vice President at Intel. Based on Intels Dual-Core Technology, the Atom 330 runs at 1.6GHz and offers 1MB of cache. Other specifications include a 533MHz FSB and 64-bit processing with a peak TDP of only 8W.
"We have thoroughly tested the Atom server, and it's ready to be provisioned via our automated provisioning systems, added SingleHops Vice President, Dan Ushman. This server is a win-win, because it's fast, extremely affordable, and the power costs are obviously substantially lower to our company.
