Hostway) has announced it has received Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) accreditation. Hostway achieved HIPAA compliance after a number of independent audits.
HIPAA is legislation in the United States that provides data privacy and security provisions for organizations safeguarding medical data. By expanding its range of HIPAA-compliant solutions, Hostway underscores its “commitment to offer trusted and secure cloud solutions that comply with the highest industry standards”. Hostway is now able to offer “a broad portfolio of managed solutions” that are HIPAA compliant and comply with Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) and Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) requirements. This means that organizations that must comply with these requirements can use Hostway’s managed services as they are offered.
