Managed hosting services provider
internet24 GmbH has been acquired by
intergenia. The Cologne, Germany-based intergenia, which operates as PlusServer, serverloft, Unmetered.com and Server4You, made the acquisition to consolidate its leadership amongst German managed hosting providers. Terms of the deal were not released.
intergenia owns and operates data centers in Germany, France and the USA and hosts around two million websites. The company caters to a "geographically diversified customer base" of mainly SMEs. Established in 1997, Dresden-based internet24 provides managed hosting services to a broad base of 20,000 customers in German-speaking countries. The company has 35 staff which will be absorbed by intergenia.
"We have known the internet24 team for a long time and are glad to have them on board as part of the intergenia group," explained intergenia's CEO Jan-Jaap Jager. "The combination of intergenia's managed hosting brand PlusServer with internet24 will help our managed hosting business unit to become one of the leading providers in German-speaking countries."
