Managed hosting solutions and services provider ServInt
has announced the launch of single-tenant High Availability (HA) dedicated server options. ServInt, which has headquarters in Reston, Virginia, United States, was launched in 1995. The company targets small to mid-sized online businesses with “off-the-shelf, fully scalable, fully managed” solutions. Alongside dedicated servers, these include Virtual Private Servers (VPS) and hybrid hosting. Its new HA dedicated server options feature guaranteed 99.999% uptime.
ServInt’s new servers are called ‘HA’ because they are the first “capable of fully recovering from hardware failure in less than 60 seconds, with data intact”. This offers obvious benefits – many hosting companies can take “hours or even days” to restore data and replace hardware. ServInt’s HA Servers work with “your existing applications, without the need for modifications” and enable users to avoid managing a “spare server, clustering databases, or configuring a failover solution”. Despite the advantages, the options offer cost savings. Avoiding the need for redundant server hardware, ServInt’s offerings cost around a third of the price of traditional HA server solutions.
“Achieving 99.999 percent server availability has been the unicorn of single server dedicated hosting,” explained ServInt’s CEO, Reed Caldwell. “Traditional high availability offerings force customers to purchase multiple servers, failover services, and other supporting technology. We have designed our HA Servers to put all that behind the scenes, presenting a single server environment that looks and feels just like every other dedicated server.”Do you know of any other providers offering new server options?
