Managed IT Services Company BETSOL Acquires Enterprise Disaster Recovery Solution Provider Zmanda Enterprise Backup
Managed IT services company BETSOL has acquired enterprise disaster recovery solution provider Zmanda Enterprise Backup (Zmanda). BETSOL, which has headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado, United States, offers managed IT services that enable its enterprise customers to “reduce time to market and scale their solutions”. The company holds a number of patents and offers a broad range of offerings including application development, infrastructure support services, and business intelligence. As well as Broomfield, BETSOL has a presence in Denver, Colorado, United States and Bangalore, India. It acquired Zmanda from Carbonite, Inc. for an undisclosed cash amount.

Zmanda bills itself as “the world’s leading provider of open source backup and cloud backup software”. Its “feature-rich backup software” includes Amanda and Zmanda Recovery Manager for MySQL. Its Amanda Cloud Backup (ZCB) technology “backs up a Windows server and live applications such as Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server to Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage or Storage Clouds based on OpenStack Swift”. The company protects more than a million systems globally. Its acquisition of Zmanda will enhance BETSOL’s enterprise backup and disaster recovery capability with offerings that complement its existing Rebit product line.

“We are excited to add Zmanda to the BETSOL product family,” explained BETSOL’s CEO, Ashok Reddy. “With the Rebit acquisition, we are gaining good traction in consumer and SMB backup market. Now, with Zmanda, our enterprise customers have award-winning reliable product lines with best-in-class support.”
