Expedient Data Centers (Expedient) has announced a July 1, 2015 start date for services at its new data center. The company, whose services also include cloud computing, colocation, disaster recovery, and connectivity, has established its latest facility in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. This is the company's eleventh facility in total, but its first in the Tennessee area.
Expedient's SOX, PCI DSS and HIPAA compliant data centers are interconnected and offer a fully redundant, 10GB fiber optic ring. This allows the company to offer hosting in 11 locations in "geographically diverse markets". The company caters to around 1,500 corporate customers worldwide and its services are underpinned by "trained technology professionals" available on an ongoing basis. In 2014 the company invested $22 million in data center expansion.
"We are excited about serving local Memphis customers with great solutions and joining the business community," explained the President and COO of Expedient, Shawn McGorry. "We believe the Memphis market will be a great complement to our existing network of interconnected data centers; it will bring an additional geographically diverse option for our current client base, as well as a local market solution for the attractive and growing Memphis commercial sector". He added, "We look forward to adding Memphis to our network of regionally diverse data centers, all offering a full host of managed services and connectivity as part of our growing product suite".
