Medical Systems Provider Intelerad Acquires Private Cloud Company Radius
Intelerad Medical Systems (Intelerad) has announced its acquisition of private cloud company Radius, LLC (Radius). Intelerad, which has headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, was established in 1999. The company provides enterprise workflow and medical image archiving solutions for healthcare organizations around the world. Its offerings include medical imaging, distributed radiology solutions, and distributed architecture and workflow orchestration solutions. Recognized for its innovative InteleViewer and InteleOne XE products, it has a presence in Calgary, Canada, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, and Melbourne, Australia. Its acquisition of Radius underscores the company’s cloud-based strategy.

Radius, which has headquarters in Hendersonville, Tennessee, United States, was established in 2009. The company offers cloud-based imaging solutions including RIS/PACS, VNA storage, and data migration services to radiology groups, hospitals, and imaging centers across the United States. It specializes in private cloud hosting services, data migration services, and options such as ‘HL7 as-a-Service’ and web-based imaging. Intelerad’s acquisition of Radius underscores the company’s aim to become “the imaging cloud platform of choice” through the provision of flexible hybrid cloud solutions to healthcare providers.

“By adding the Radius cloud platform and solutions to its offering, Intelerad continues its focus on becoming a true one-stop-shop, whether clients are looking to outsource their IT management or simply do not have dedicated IT resources,” explained Intelerad’s President and CEO Paul Lepage. “This expanded offering addresses the changes that are happening in the market right now and provides our clients with increased business resiliency while offering the same elasticity for the cost of managed services that our Fee Per Study model already allows for their diagnostic software.”

“The combination of our two organizations creates a major step forward in improving radiology delivery and patient care in our industry,” added the CEO of Radius, Ken Nelson. “By joining Intelerad, we unify our mission to deliver maximum productivity, reduce complexity, and produce better outcomes for all.”
