Michael Richtberg Joins Virtual Desktop Optimization Solutions Provider GreenBytes as Vice President, Product Management
Michael Richtberg has joined virtual desktop optimization solutions provider GreenBytes as Vice President, Product Management. Founded in 2007, GreenBytes has headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island. The company produces solutions that offer a full-featured desktop experience with the manageability, scalability and affordability required for cloud-scale VDI deployments. Its unique perspective in the market is GreenBytes' solutions support users' existing infrastructures.

Michael Richtberg brings a wealth of experience to his new position and through his insight into the needs of desktop virtualization customers, will help GreenBytes enhance its IO-Offload product offerings. An industry veteran, his last position before joining GreenBytes was Advanced Planning Director, CTO Office, End User Computing at Dell Inc. (formerly Dell Computer). He joined Dell's Best Value Solutions team in 2010 to establish a strategy for offerings that would accelerate mobile and alternative virtual desktop computing adoption. This led to Dell acquiring Cloud Client Computing solutions provider Wyse. Before working with Dell, Richtberg was engaged by Citrix Systems where he worked for over a decade and spearheaded the launch of a number of products that helped the company increase revenue from $128M in 1997, to over $1.5B in 2008.

"Enabling users to experience a true Personal Computing experience with all of the individual preferences we expect to make our desktops productive shouldn't be optional, yet many customers have to choose flexibility over affordability," explained Mr. Richtberg. "Cost optimization and systems management simplicity shouldn't be a trade-off when choosing a virtualized architecture. I am very pleased to be joining GreenBytes as the product champion for virtualized storage infrastructure that keeps the 'personal' in virtual desktops."
