Microsoft to Release IE7 with CSS Support and Stronger Security

April 27, 2005
April 27, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Web developers and web hosts should have fewer headaches in the new future when Microsoft releases its IE7 browser. Not only has Microsoft promised to shore up security on its massively popular web browser but also in a recent web blog a Microsoft developer on the IE team, Chris Wilson, has promised that IE7 will feature standardized support for CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and PNG images.

Wilson promises in his blog, “Our first and most important goal with our Cascading Style Sheet support is to remove the major inconsistencies so that web developers have a consistent set of functionality on which they can rely.”

The IE browser which enjoys an approximate 90% market share has been criticized in the past for a lack of standards enforcement and for security breaches so the newest version, if it lives up to the hype, should bring a great deal of relief and happiness to the web development community and fewer headaches for web hosts.
