MongoDB and Redis hosting provider ScaleGrid Inc. (ScaleGrid
) has announced the availability of fully managed MySQL hosting. ScaleGrid, which has head offices in East Palo Alto, California, United States, was established in 2012. The company’s services include a fully managed Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) solution which is “used by thousands of developers, startups, and enterprise customers” including UPS, Dell, and Adobe.
ScaleGrid’s platform provides support for key database solutions such as MongoDB, Redis, MySQL and PostgreSQL, making them available on private clouds and public clouds such as Amazon Web Service (AWS), DigitalOcean, and VMware. The platform scales as required and allows companies to focus on their core business activity. A free 30-day trial of the solution is available to new users. ScaleGrid’s advanced DBaaS MySQL solution is now available on “dedicated servers on leading cloud provider, Microsoft Azure, with support for MySQL on AWS to quickly follow”.
"Multi-database systems (MDBS) demand has skyrocketed over the past few years as businesses expand past strictly using the traditional relational database management systems," explained ScaleGrid’s founder and CEO Dharshan Rangegowda. "From the beginning, we designed ScaleGrid with this vision in mind, as DBA's all the way up to senior IT leadership need a centralized, single pane of glass view into the performance, security, and scalability of their entire database stack in one all-powerful platform."
ScaleGrid’s two MySQL hosting solutions include ‘Dedicated Clusters’ hosted and managed through ScaleGrid, and a Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) solution that enables users to host and manage MySQL clusters in their own Azure account. ScaleGrid's MySQL Dedicated Cluster plan starts at $18 per month, while its BYOC package is offered starting at only $8 per month.Do you know of any other companies offering new DBaaS solutions?
