Multi-cloud management provider and cloud services company
Flexera has acquired cloud management company RightScale. Flexera, which has headquarters in Itasca, Illinois, United States, was established in 2008. The company bills itself as “reimagining the way software is bought, sold, managed and secured”. It offers a range of monetization and security solutions that enable software providers to grow revenues and “minimize open source risk”. Flexera has around 80,000 customers globally and its enterprise partners include Adobe, HP, IBM and Microsoft. Financial aspects of its acquisition of RightScale have not been released.
RightScale was established in 2007 and has headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, United States. The company is a cloud computing pioneer and delivers “vendor-agnostic cloud management capabilities”. Its ‘RightScale Cloud Management Platform’ helps companies reduce risk and costs by enabling IT organizations to “deliver instant access to a portfolio of public, private, and hybrid cloud services across business units and development teams”. The company also offers RightScale Optima, a collaborative cloud cost management and optimization solution. The acquisition will enable Flexera to strengthen its SAM business with cloud management tools.
