Network-connected devices and services specialist
Verimatrix has integrated its MultiRights OTT multi-DRM security solution with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Media Services. Verimatrix, which has headquarters in San Diego, California, United States, was established in 2000. The company specializes in “securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe” and is the leader in revenue security for connected video devices. Its ‘Verimatrix Video Content Authority System’ (VCAS) suite allows video service providers to extend networks and benefit from additional revenue streams. By integrating with AWS through ‘AWS Elemental MediaConvert’ and ‘AWS Elemental MediaPackage’, Verimatrix can now offer “secure cloud-based video delivery” to customers.
‘AWS Media Services’ is a cloud-based service that utilizes a pay-as-you-use payment model and allows users to package and deliver video content. Integrating MultiRights OTT and AWS Media Services allows pay-TV operators, broadcasters, and OTT providers to securely offer “high-quality video streams for broadcast television and multi-screen devices”. Video providers are also able to deploy MultiRights OTT “on-premises, as a virtualized instance hosted in-house by the provider, or via the complete Verimatrix Secure Cloud hosting and management service”.
“This advancement of cloud-based workflows is a significant milestone in the industry’s transition to the virtualization of video infrastructure,” said Petr Peterka, CTO of Verimatrix. “MultiRights OTT is designed to provide a frictionless viewing experience through an advanced multi-DRM platform for premium services. Our API integration with AWS Media Services addresses the diverse constellation of video providers moving at different rates towards the goal of complete cloud-based and virtualized operations.”
