Hillstone Networks has enhanced security for Amazon Web Services (AWS) users. Hillstone Networks, which was founded in 2006, has headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, United States. The company caters to over 10,000 customers globally including Fortune 500 companies. Its services include a wide range of security solutions designed for business and data centers. It bills itself as delivering “360° protection to your network—whether it’s physical, virtual, or in the cloud”. Hillstone Networks’ new solution, CloudEdge, adds an “additional layer of security” for AWS customers.
CloudEdge is a Virtual Firewall solution which is built on Hillstone Networks’ “Next-Generation Firewall” (NGFW) technology. The ‘Standard’ and ‘Advanced’ editions of the solution protect AWS. It is “deployed as an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) gateway” and integrates a range of security services such as “firewall security, application visibility and identification, VPN, IPS, QoS, SLB, and attack protection” to maintain cloud deployment security. CloudEdge monitors Amazon VPC traffic and uses identification and control measures to stop unauthorized access. Users can also take a “snapshot backup” of CloudEdge to facilitate Virtual Firewall services restoration should the system fail. It also offers a range of reports on Amazon VPC traffic that enable AWS users to “achieve the lowest cost for network security”.
