January 30, 2008
January 30, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Parallels (http://www.parallels.com) - formerly SWsoft - has launched a new website (http://www.parallels.com) featuring its new name alongside a new corporate logo. The company is also ‘implementing a descriptive product naming strategy’ where SWsoft’s PEM and HSPcomplete become ‘Parallels System Automation’ and ‘Parallels Business Automation’. A full list of product name changes is available on the company’s new corporate website.

These changes represent part of the company's Optimized Computing initiative announced in December, and its cornerstone the ‘Parallels Open Platform’ which brings together desktop and server virtualization plus system and business automation assets in conjunction with a rapidly-expanding ecosystem of partner solutions for use in on-premise, hosted and software-as-a-service (SaaS) usage models.

Earlier this month, the company made available the beta version of Parallels Server, its hypervisor-powered server virtualization solution, as a complement to its Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 operating system (OS) server virtualization software made generally available today.

Parallels is a worldwide leader in virtualization and automation software that optimizes computing for consumers, businesses, and service providers across all major hardware, operating system, and virtualization platforms. Founded in 1999, Parallels is a fast-growing company with 900 employees in North America, Europe, and Asia.
