New Zealand IT Infrastructure and Cloud Company ViFX Partners with VMware
New Zealand IT infrastructure and cloud company ViFX has partnered with VMware. The company, which offers a range of managed cloud services, will establish a "compelling new hybrid cloud offering" as a result of the partnership. The offering, VMware vCloud Air, will provide a cost-effective means for VMware users in New Zealand to "establish development and testing infrastructure for rapid new application developments".

VMware vCloud Air allows companies to utilize their existing data center capability to leverage the benefits of hybrid clouds. The solution operates with customers' current private environments to support applications "developed in the cloud as well as existing ones". A highly scalable solution, vCloud Air is offered on a ‘pay-as-you-use’ basis, or a more traditional monthly billing approach. The solution supplements a company's existing capability to address issues such as limited onsite capacity and usage spikes and troughs.

“We are pleased to work with ViFX to deliver VMware vCloud Air to the New Zealand market, enabling organizations to easily and securely extend their data centers into the cloud, using the same trusted infrastructure they have been using on-premises," suggested VMware ANZ's Vice President and Managing Director Duncan Bennet in a statement. "ViFX is a certified hybrid cloud partner in New Zealand and has built specialist management and services capabilities as it empowers organizations with a simple and flexible path to the cloud.”
