Notify.me has launched a web site alert service which allows users “near real-time alerts” showing when their favorite web sites are updated, it was reported recently. According to the company, the new site harnesses of the potential of the Montenegro top-level “.ME” domains. Its alerts can be received through “mobile devices, instant messenger, desktop application, email and Internet browsers”.
“We are pleased to see sites like Notify.Me develop so soon after the opening of public registration for dot-ME domains,” explained Executive Director of the dot-ME domain registry, Predrag Lesic. “This site truly embodies the value proposition of s, which are all about you.”

We selected a dot-ME domain, because the branding fits with our marketing strategy and the name Notify.Me directly conveys what our service does,” added Wieland.
Founded in 2008, Notify.Me has gained over 4000 new users since coming out of beta, and according to the company is “close to announcing some exciting new partnerships”. .ME domains became available earlier in 2008 and opened for public registration in June 2008. Real-time registrations opened on July 17, 2008. To date the registry has had over 175,000 registrations.
