December 25, 2009
December 25, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a global IP network services provider, today announced the company’s progress in supporting international and domestic customer expansion in the second half of 2009. With an emphasis on cloud computing and converged communications, NTT America also participated in a variety of conferences to advance key technology and business areas, such as IPv6 and Central and Latin American market development and announced several management promotions in anticipation of continued growth.

As cloud computing continues to dominate the enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) landscape, the company goal is to help accelerate the adoption of enterprise cloud computing by powering OpSource Cloud™, a cloud solution bringing together the flexibility, availability and community of the public cloud with the security, performance and control the enterprise requires, through NTT America’s secure data centers and Tier-1 global IP network.

In addition, the company completed a series of significant promotions to strengthen its business objectives. Kazuhiro Gomi was appointed chief operating officer (COO) on June 1 and leads the Global IP Network (GIN) Business Unit as well as the newly formed Enterprise Solutions Business Unit (ESBU). Michael Wheeler succeeds Mr. Gomi as vice president of GIN and takes on responsibilities for customers, engineering and finance for the business unit. Also, industry veteran Doug Junkins took on the role of chief technology officer (CTO), and is now responsible for maintaining and advancing the company’s technical leadership.

“The changes in the market over the last 24 months, including both technology and economic challenges, have put NTT America in a position to leverage our complete portfolio of business and infrastructure assets for our customers and our company,” said Michael Wheeler, vice president of the Global IP Network for NTT America. “We are pleased to have been able to make considerable progress in supporting enterprise application trends, sharing our experiences with and benefits of leading edge technologies, expanding our customer and support base in Central and Latin America and building a strong management team to ensure our ability to execute on our goals.”
